Welcome To Jacob Hobschaidt's Page

Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Tiffany and I was brought upon this earth in July 1997. As you can see I am a Maltese. Sometimes Jack & Joan refer to me as their "Southern Snowflake" or their "Dust Mop" with feet. They were nice enough to adopt me from some people in a place called Tampa, Florida. These people that I have been adopted by have told me that I am a lovable, cuddly, little canine.  Much to their chagrin I departed from this life on December 12, 2005 due to cancer.  So, I am writing this from "Doggie Heaven".

I wish to welcome you to our Home Page. Let me tell you a little about the people that cared for me in this household. When Jack & Joan retired they relocated to southern Florida from New Jersey. For the longest time they had the notion to remove themselves from the cold, snowy winters up there when the time came to retire. I personally have never experienced the cold, snowy, winter weather but my caretakers really enjoy the weather here.

Joan likes to play bingo and Jack spends a lot of time on his toy, the computer. They sometimes take a nice boat ride along the Intracoastal Waterway. At times they will invite a neighbor to go along. Their son Kurt has his boat in Jack & Joan's boat slip and Kurt encourages them and his brother Karl to use it. And it sure is fun skimming along the top of the water. They reside right on the Intracoastal Waterway and enjoy observing both the small boats and the large yachts as they pass by. Sometimes they even see a Coast Guard boat come by. Each year at Christmas time there is a Christmas Boat Parade. The boats that pass by have a variety of Christmas lights and decorations adorning them. They compete for the blue ribbon.

On some of the evenings, as the moon rises from the horizon, especially a full moon, it shines on the water making for a beautiful sight.

Anyway, as for the boring family statistics, Joan and Jack were wed in August 1955. Joan retired as a supervisor from a bank. Jack retired from a law enforcement agency. They have 6 children and 12 grandchildren. Of their children the eldest is their son Craig. He, wife Julie and son Timothy reside in south east Pennsylvania. Next are daughter Lynn & husband Ron who reside in New Jersey. Then there is son Kurt & wife Janet with their daughter and son who also reside in New Jersey. Daughter Gail, a single mom, resides in north central Pennsylvania with 4 of her children. The fifth one lives in North Carolina.  A law firm employs Gail. Son Karl and wife, Claudia reside in south Florida. Son Kent & wife Chandra and 3 sons reside in south Florida also. Karl & Kent, are twins as are two of Kent's sons.

Oh, I almost forgot-- About two months before I left this earth the six children did something very sneaky.  They gave my master and mistress a surprise 50th wedding anniversary party at the Old Calypso in Delray Beach.  It's a nice place right on the Intracoastal Waterway.  There were 56 people there.  Family, friends, neighbors, ex-coworkers, and even some people who were neighbors to them a very long time ago, long before I was even around.  They were so surprised!  And so was I when I saw how many people they brought to our house that day!

Well, I guess I'll be saying goodbye for now.  I'm up here visiting with CeeJay, Rexx, Sheba, and other family dogs who were up here before me.  Funny thing, though.  When I was on the earth I didn't like when other dogs were around.  Now it doesn't seem to bother me.  Hey, what can I say-- It's a dog's life...
